"For we live by faith, not by sight."
In the kitchen, we often find ourselves adjusting recipes based on intuition and experience rather than strict adherence to what's written. Similarly, in life, we live by faith, not by sight. We don’t have all the answers, and we can't see the full picture, but we trust God, knowing He guides our path.
Just as a cook relies on their senses beyond sight – like taste, smell, and touch – to create delicious food, we must rely on our faith to guide us through life. Our sight may tell us that a situation is hopeless, but our faith tells us that with God, nothing is impossible.
2 Corinthians 5:7 encourages us to look beyond what our physical eyes can see, and instead, see with eyes of faith. This faith, rooted in God's promises and character, allows us to navigate through life with confidence, trusting that He is in control.
As we navigate through our kitchen, making adjustments and corrections along the way, let's remember to live by faith, trusting in God's guidance, even when we can't see the outcome.
Reflective Questions:
- In what situations are you currently walking by faith and not by sight?
- How can you encourage yourself to trust God when the path ahead seems unclear?
Prayer:
Lord, help us to walk by faith and not by sight, trusting in Your guidance even when we can't see the way ahead. Strengthen our faith, and remind us of Your steadfast presence in our lives. Amen.
