"It is written: 'I believed; therefore I have spoken.' Since we have that same spirit of faith, we also believe and therefore speak."
Devotional: In a kitchen, when you taste a perfect recipe, you can't help but share the good news with others. The dish is so excellent that you can't keep it to yourself. This is similar to how we are to live out our faith.
The Apostle Paul cites a psalmist's declaration of faith in 2 Corinthians 4:13. This verse emphasizes that belief and proclamation are tied together, just like cooking and sharing a recipe. Our faith isn't something that we keep to ourselves; it prompts us to speak, to share the good news of Jesus Christ with others, just like sharing a great recipe.
Our faith is more than an internal or personal matter. It affects our actions and our words. Just as a great recipe is meant to be shared, the good news of the Gospel, the faith we have in Christ, is meant to be voiced.
Reflective Questions:
- How can you more actively share your faith with those around you?
- How does your faith influence your daily conversations and interactions?
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for the faith You have given us. Help us to not only believe in You but also to speak of You. Let our faith be like a recipe shared, drawing others to taste and see Your goodness. Amen.
