June 1st: The Mixing Bowl of Kindness

June 1st: The Mixing Bowl of Kindness

Colossians 3:12 - "Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience."

Imagine life as a mixing bowl, and kindness as the key ingredient that blends seamlessly with other virtues to create a harmonious dish. Just as a skilled chef combines various elements to craft a masterpiece, so does God invite us to clothe ourselves with compassion, humility, gentleness, and patience. The verse from Colossians 3:12 reminds us to "clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience."

In the mixing bowl of life, kindness serves as the base that enriches our character. Just as each ingredient contributes to the final flavor, each virtue we embrace molds us into a reflection of God's heart. May your life be a well-mixed blend of these virtues, with kindness as the foundational ingredient that enhances the beauty of your character.

Reflection Questions:

1. How do you see kindness blending with other virtues in your daily life?

2. What practical steps can you take to intentionally clothe yourself with kindness and other virtues each day?

Daily Morning Prayer:

Heavenly Father, like a chef creating a masterpiece, I ask for Your guidance in blending compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience in my character. As I clothe myself with these virtues, may I reflect Your heart and bring harmony to my interactions with others. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
