December 3rd: Sifting Expectations

December 3rd: Sifting Expectations

Jeremiah 29:11 - "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope."

As flour pours through a sifter, what remains is the purest, finest form. Our life, similarly, is filled with expectations, dreams, and aspirations. But not all expectations serve our best interest. By sifting them through the screen of God's word and promises, we can retain what's pure and discard what’s not.

God has grand designs for us – designs filled with hope, future, and prosperity. When we align our hopes with His plans, we ensure that we’re heading toward a future beyond our wildest dreams.

Reflection Questions

1. Are my expectations in line with God's promises?

2. How can I better sift my desires and dreams through His word?

Morning Prayer

Lord, as I sift through my expectations, guide me to discern what aligns with Your perfect plans. Lead me to a future grounded in Your promises. Amen.
