Psalm 37:7 - "Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways when they carry out their wicked schemes."
In our fast-paced world, patience is a virtue often overlooked.
Yet, the Psalmist calls for a deliberate pause, a stillness before God. This kind of stillness isn't mere inactivity, but an intentional time of reflection and trust-building.
It is in these moments of quietude that we hear God's whispers most clearly, reminding us of His sovereignty and love. While it's tempting to fret when we see others succeed, especially when their ways don't align with God's, we must remember that God's timeline and justice are perfect.
Reflection Questions
1. How often do you intentionally set aside time to be still before the Lord?
2. How can you cultivate patience when you're tempted to compare your journey to others?
Morning Prayer
Lord, in this busy world, grant me the grace to find moments of stillness with You. Help me to trust in Your timing and remember that Your ways are higher than mine. Amen.
