December 10th: The Right Temperature

December 10th: The Right Temperature

Revelation 3:15-16 - "I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth."

In culinary arts, temperature is critical. Similarly, our spiritual temperature determines our relationship with God. Lukewarm faith is neither here nor there. God desires us to be fervent, on fire for Him, or completely cold, so we know where we stand. It’s the in-between, the lukewarmness, that’s not acceptable.

Our challenge is to examine our hearts and stoke the fires of our faith, ensuring we're hot and passionate in our pursuit of God.

Reflection Questions

1. What is the current temperature of my faith?

2. How can I ignite the fires of my faith and passion for God?

Morning Prayer

Lord, rekindle the flames of my faith. Drive away any lukewarmness from my heart and set me ablaze with passion and love for You. Amen.
