September 30 - Hebrews 11:1

September 30 - Hebrews 11:1

"Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see."

When baking bread, we mix ingredients, knead the dough, let it rise, and then bake it, all while trusting that the final product will be delicious. We have confidence in the process, even if we can't see the final result immediately. This is very much like faith.

Hebrews 11:1 describes faith as the confidence in what we hope for and the assurance about what we do not see. Faith is like trusting the bread-making process, even when we can't see the bread yet. Faith gives us the confidence to keep kneading, keep trusting, and keep hoping, because we know the result will be good.

Just as we have faith in the baking process, we are called to have faith in God's process. Even when we can't see the outcome, we trust that God is working for our good. As we work in our kitchens today, let's remember to have faith in God's perfect process and timing.

Reflective Questions:

  1. How does your faith give you confidence in God's plans for your life?
  2. How can you cultivate a deeper trust in God's process, even when you can't see the outcome?

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of faith, which gives us confidence in what we hope for and assurance in what we do not see. Help us to trust in Your process and Your timing, even when we can't see the outcome. Strengthen our faith, Lord. Amen.
