September 21 - Romans 10:17

"So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ."

Cooking a new recipe often involves careful listening or reading. We rely on the instructions given, trusting in the wisdom of the recipe's creator. Similarly, faith in our lives is cultivated by hearing and understanding the Word of Christ. It's through our regular exposure to Scripture that we learn about God's love, His promises, and His plans for us.

The Word of God is a divine recipe for our lives, guiding us in the path of righteousness, shaping our character, and nurturing our spirits. Just like how the aroma of a cooking dish enriches our senses, the word of God, when taken in, enriches our souls and strengthens our faith.

Let us then make a conscious effort to immerse ourselves in God's Word, just like we would learn a new recipe. For faith comes not by merely glancing at God's Word, but by deeply hearing, understanding, and applying it in our lives.

Reflective Questions:

  1. How can you make more time to hear and understand God's Word in your daily routine?
  2. How has your faith been impacted by hearing the Word of God?

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your Word that guides and shapes us. Help us to hear Your Word, understand it, and apply it in our lives so that our faith can be strengthened. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
