Galatians 6:9 - "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."
A dish, no matter how well-prepared, is made memorable with the right garnish. That sprinkle of parsley or drizzle of sauce not only enhances flavor but also appealingly presents the dish. In our lives, acts of goodness and kindness play a similar role. They are the garnishes that make our existence special.
Yet, doing good isn't always easy. At times, the world's cynicism can make acts of kindness seem futile. But with self-control, we persist. We continue to sow seeds of goodness, fully trusting in God's promise of a harvest.
Every act of kindness, every word of encouragement, and every gesture of love has the potential to change a life. And while the world may not always recognize or reward our efforts, God's ledger misses nothing.
So, let's not grow weary. Let's garnish our days with acts of goodness, trusting that in God's perfect time, we'll reap a harvest of blessings.
Reflection Questions:
- How do you ensure that acts of goodness remain a regular part of your life?
- What motivates you to continue doing good, especially when it feels unrewarded?
Morning Prayer:
Gracious Lord, fill my heart with the zeal to do good, to be a beacon of Your love in this world. Even when I'm weary, remind me of the eternal harvest awaiting and renew my spirit to serve with joy. Amen.
