December 30th: Setting the Table for a New Year

December 30th: Setting the Table for a New Year

Isaiah 43:19 - "Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert."

As we set the table for a new year, it's a reminder of the new beginnings and opportunities God offers. Just as each dish on the table serves a purpose, every experience in the new year has divine intent. God is continuously doing "new things" in our lives, turning our wilderness into pathways and our deserts into rivers of blessings. We must approach the new year with hope and anticipation, recognizing and celebrating God's transformative work.

Reflection Questions

  1. How have you seen God make "a way in the wilderness" for you in the past?

  2. What new things are you hoping and praying for in the upcoming year?

Morning Prayer

God of new beginnings, as I stand on the cusp of a new year, fill my heart with hope and expectation. Guide my steps, turn challenges into blessings, and help me to recognize the new things You are doing in my life. Amen.
