December 12th: Seasoned with Time

December 12th: Seasoned with Time

Ecclesiastes 3:1 - "There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens."

Life is a mosaic of seasons, each holding its different essence, challenges, and blessings. As seasons change in nature, so do the seasons of our lives. We might bask in the warmth of joy or grapple with the chill of trials. Yet, in all things, the divine chef seasons our lives with purpose and intention.

As in cooking, timing is crucial. A rushed dish might be undercooked while overcooking can destroy its essence. We often grapple with God's timing, impatiently wanting outcomes our way. But the wisdom of Ecclesiastes reminds us of a divine schedule, a heavenly cadence that we're invited to dance to.

How often do we yearn for skipped steps, bypassing vital growth opportunities? While the anticipation of a particular season's end might feel agonizing, there's beauty in the waiting. Every season, whether of abundance or lack, joy or pain, is a teacher. Each phase molds, refines, and prepares us for the next.

Ultimately, our faith grows deeper roots not in the mountaintop experiences, but in the valleys of waiting and trusting. The divine chef knows precisely when to introduce each seasoning, each trial, and each blessing. As we anticipate and prepare, let's embrace our current season, knowing that it's part of a magnificent recipe for our lives.

Reflection Questions

1. What season are you currently in, and what is it teaching you?

2. How can you better embrace God's timing, even when it doesn't align with yours?

Morning Prayer

Father, I surrender to Your divine timing. Help me embrace my current season, learn from it, and trust in Your perfect plan. May my faith deepen as I walk hand in hand with You, anticipating the flavors You're infusing into my life. Amen.
